Who We Are

tuomo Dr. Tuomo Kakkonen works on research projects on natural language processing, educational technology and information retrieval. His research topics include syntactic parsing of natural languages, document comparison methods, automatic assessment of students' texts and plagiarism detection. Before becoming a researcher, Tuomo worked as a software designer and project manager. In his spare time, Tuomo enjoys traveling, photography and cycling both with and without a motor. Educational background: PhD, Computer Science (University of Joensuu, 2007); MSc, Computer Science (Software Engineering) (University of Joensuu, 2004)
